Quantity Surveyor / Estimation

Job Purpose

Support the project team through documentation of material requirements and their cost structures.

Detailed calculation of quantity requirements of various materials from detailed drawings.
Preparation of complete BOQs for various material packages.
Preparation of standardized BOQ formats for different materials for easy reference.
Coordinate with consultants for technical specifications for preparation of BOQs for outsourced materials/equipment such as HVAC, Electrical, Fire & Safety equipment, etc.
Maintain up-to-date rates of raw materials, bought-outs, fittings, and fixtures from the marketplace and the latest price lists, which can also be accessed for reference by other Design teams.
Prepare rate analysis for different material sub-systems, such as partitions, fixed furniture, etc.
Prepare budgetary costing and estimates for the project.
Prepare entire tender documentation in soft copies for floating to vendors.
Attend tender openings jointly with the Director, Estimation and Turnkey Projects.
Scrutinize bids and prepare comparative cost analysis statements of bids for evaluation by PMC.

Minimum 7 years of experience.
Hands-on knowledge of interior fit-out work methods and practices.
Knowledge of interior and civil workmanship to assess vendor quality and capability.
Expertise in rate analysis and taking out quantities.
Good knowledge of the application and costs of raw materials, bought-outs, and equipment used in architecture and interiors.
Knowledge of price and market trends of various architectural and interior materials.
Knowledge of the latest materials and new manufacturers/suppliers entering the construction and interiors market.
Accuracy in calculations in MS Excel.
Competent in number crunching.
