Interior Designer

Location: Gurgaon / Mumbai / Hyderabad
Reporting To: Team Leader
Experience: Minimum 6 years
Qualification: Degree/Diploma in Interior Design

Job Purpose

Designing and drawing overall layouts, detailed working drawings, and selecting appropriate materials and finishes to ensure work is executed within the aesthetic, cost, and time parameters stipulated by the customer.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Prepare overall layout drawings showing the entire floor plan based on inputs from the Team Leader and Top Management.
2. Prepare tender drawings when required.
3. Cross-check site measurements prior to starting detailed drawings, and take measurements as and when required.
4. Prepare different set-outs for floor, ceiling, and partitions.
5. Coordinate with service consultants for drawings covering services and utilities such as fire and security, HVAC, electricals, etc., and finalize drawings for the various levels.
6. Prepare detailed drawings for workstation areas, cubicles, cabins, conference rooms, server rooms, canteens, etc., based on inputs from the Team Leader and Top Management.
7. List and specify materials selected for interiors, such as fabrics, paint, laminates, wood/veneer, tiling, and alternate finishes that meet customer requirements and fit the targeted costing agreed with the customer.
8. List and specify electrical and light fittings, sanitary fittings, and related components, materials, and equipment in coordination with vendors and consultants.
9. Prepare drawings and designs to help clients obtain statutory approvals.
10. Incorporate changes in drawings/designs from time to time to conform to the cost and time considerations of the project based on inputs from the Team Leader, and issue revised drawings to site.
11. Ensure that all design and drawing work is executed to the full satisfaction of the customer.
12. Assist the Team Leader in follow-up and site coordination on progress and help resolve various site-related problems to help the site-in-charge execute the work smoothly.
13. Prepare As-Built drawings at the completion of site work for the purpose of handover.
14. Provide any other assistance in the preparation of handover documents.
15. Have knowledge of NBC rules and their application and compliance in drawings.
16. Increase basic knowledge of services such as HVAC, electrical, fire, and security by attending in-house training sessions and going for site visits as and when required.
17. Ensure commitment to final deliverables within time and quality parameters.
18. Conduct site visits as and when required.
19. Follow all SOPs and standard formats.

Experience & Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Interior Design.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in handling interior design assignments for residential and corporate interiors.

Skills & Competencies

• Skilled in sketching, diagramming, physical and computer modelling.
• Good knowledge of the use and application of building, interior, and architectural materials.
• Sound knowledge of basic service engineering functions.
• Working knowledge of various design software packages for the generation and representation of designs, such as Photoshop, SketchUp, and AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
